Compared with the traditional mechanical design, the hydraulic design can greatly reduce the size and weight of the hydraulic tools, greatly improve the portability, and reduce the space requirements of the product.

At the same time, through innovative design, the hydraulic hydraulic take-and-place tool is driven by a manual hydraulic pump, which makes the operation more convenient and labor-saving, and the use of replaceable connectors greatly extends the service life of the tool.

Attention!  Since the single ball isolation valve configuration is longer than the double isolation valve, this increases the total length of operation when the hydraulic retrieval tool is used. Therefore, a specially designed double-acting hydraulic retrieval tool is required to be used with the valve.

The EMT retrieval tool with DBB valve can be used to replace corrosion detection equipment in the pipeline under full pressure operation without shutting down or decompressing the piping system. EMT hydraulic retrieval tool and double block and bleed service valve comply with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). For improve safety, the hydraulic retrieval tool is equipped with a DBB(double block and bleed) valve.

The new Double Block and Bleed Service Valve from EMT is engineered to deliver an added level of protection, ensuring the highest safety standards are met. The complete Service Valve Kit includes the valve assembly with an extension lever, a brass hammer, a spare face-to-access fitting O-ring, and a rugged field service box for secure storage and convenient portability.

The EMT 3600DBB is fully compatible with all EMT Access Fittings and RBS/RBSA/RSL Retrievers. When attached to the access fitting body, the primary valve serves as the control point, allowing the pressurized product to flow into the retriever during the insertion and removal of EMT Solid or Hollow Plug Assemblies. It also retains the pressurized product when the retriever is disconnected. The secondary valve functions as a backup in the rare event of a primary valve failure or leak.

This system utilizes two ball valves with full-opening ports and integrated pressure equalizing ports. These features enable the operator to gradually release line pressure into the retriever. By equalizing the pressure on both sides of the ball valves, the torque required to operate them is significantly reduced—even in high-pressure environments.

For enhanced safety and cleanliness, the valves are also equipped with built-in secondary vents to atmosphere, which direct product bleed-off away from the operator. When used with the optional Diverter Hose Assembly, these bleed valves can serve additional purposes such as product sampling, back-pressuring, or pressure relief.

In the event of damage to the plug threads, packing, or O-ring—conditions that could prevent service valve removal—the Service Valve Blanking Plug (available as an optional accessory) can be used to seal the valve’s open end. This plug is designed to mate with the acme threads of the service valve once the retriever is removed, providing a secondary seal. The Service Valve can then remain safely in place, fully sealing the access fitting until permanent repairs can be made.
